The Cloud: Where are they now?

For the past three to four years, the buzz has been “are you in the Cloud?” With the growing consumer use of IT, not only has the Cloud become a reality, but many people are now using Cloud storage devices such as iCloud, Google Drive and OneDrive. Mobile devices have caused the Cloud to become the ultimate storage which the majority are feeling more comfortable using and are now using in their everyday life. It might be questioned what is the advantage of using Cloud storage? The Cloud allows us to access any of our documents and information from any device we may have available to us.

We often hear about security issues and breaches with Cloud storage. Most hacks that are happening are due to user error by not using appropriate passwords and security measures. The first wall of defense for the Cloud to having a secure account is a strong password. Remember, nothing is 100% secure even your own homes or offices which can be breached multiple ways, unlike the Cloud where your password is required.

In my opinion, the Cloud is here to stay. At least for the time being until it is replaced with newer technology. As for now, this technology should be embraced and we should learn to use it to our best advantage.
