Are You Still Running Windows XP?

For 12 years Windows XP was an extremely popular operating system especially in businesses. Although the operating system was popular, Microsoft discontinued support in April of 2014. You may ask why this is a concern. The main concern is that Windows XP still holds nearly 25% of the operating system market share.

If you are using Windows XP, you should consider all the reasons you should upgrade your operating system. One concern for continuing use of Windows XP with today’s technology is security. Microsoft will no longer be fixing the operating system to help attempt to stop attacks. Another reason is the ending of support and updates of programs that are being run on Windows XP. Companies, such as Adobe, will begin to stop producing updates and support for the users running Windows XP as well as older versions of their programs. The lack of updates could cause a security risk for your company and its data or could unable you to use critical programs. These are just a few of the reasons you should consider if you are currently running Windows XP and are trying to decide if you need to upgrade to a different operating system.
