Baldwin CPAs Wins 2019 BDO Clear Choices Award

Baldwin CPAs, a leading CPA firm with six offices in Kentucky, received the BDO Clear Choices Award for their Exceptional and Engaged People. Awards were handed out in various categories at the BDO Alliance USA Conference last week in Las Vegas.

At Baldwin CPAs, we believe that keeping our employees engaged and motivated is key to our success as a firm. We stress that internal customer service is just as important as external customer service. That is why our leadership team has made our employees a priority and we have multiple strategies to ensure our staff is empowered to be their best selves.

The proof is in the numbers. A quarter of Baldwin’s staff have been with the company for over 10 years. The intern program has also been a successful way to recruit and start the employee engagement process early. There are currently seven staff members that started out as interns and are now full time.

Below are just some of the initiatives Baldwin CPAs uses to inspire their people and make them a continued priority:

  • Race for the Roses- Developed in 2018, this is a year-round employee engagement “race” where each employee gains points or “furlongs” through participation in various marketing and business development activities.
  • Internal Employee Five Star Program- These are communication strategies that foster open and honest relationships regardless of title or position.
  • Monthly Fun Calendars- Even though our firm is spread out between six locations, our firm has a monthly fun calendar that all employees can participate in at their respective locations to help make our firm feel like one big family.
  • Continued Learning- The company encourages all employees to never stop learning and offers four major training outlets for continued education.
  • Community Involvement- Baldwin employees love to serve. They enjoy showing up at various events and are encouraged to bring their families.
  • Cutting Edge Technology- The small culture atmosphere is enjoyed by employees, but we also embrace cutting-edge technology that helps our employees work efficiently and even remotely.
  • Team Days- Twice a year each department goes off site for a day of fun and planning.
  • State of the Firm- Each year, the managing member travels to each office to present the financial results from the prior year and the goals for the next year. This keeps everyone on the same page about where we have been and where we are going.
